About Us
Once upon a time...
... there was a little boy called Adam and a little girl named Ani.
Although they were destined to one day be together, fate would
have it that they would start very far away from each other indeed.
Adam grew up in a small town surrounded by green countryside in
the exotic land of Essex, whereas Ani spent her younger years 2000-odd
miles away, split between Tbilisi and Moscow. But not even 2000-odd
miles could stand in the way of destiny.
One fateful, magical
evening...
... their paths crossed, both drawn by a libertine siren song to a
respectable venue in the heart of London. Sparks flew and their lives
were enriched by each other's company. Their courtship ran the
traditional course; Essex boy meets Georgian girl, Georgian girl has
to explain “no, not that Georgia. The country Georgia”, Essex boy spends
the next decade trying to learn, what is often described as being, one
of the top ten hardest languages in the world to learn. During this time,
they spent their days together wandering around London town arm in arm,
lost in each other's company, and at times, just plain lost. They were
brought close by their love of art and lengthy discussions whilst
meandering around galleries. They were brought even closer by their joint
distain and disappointment for some other art, which isn't worth discussing
here but it is safe to say, that although the very nature of art is its
subjectivity, this particular artist transcended the medium and could, for
all intents and purposes, be considered, on the whole, objectively poor.
Their love grew...
… not only surrounded by art, but by music; grand operas to celebrate birthdays,
risqué show music and experimental jazz to celebrate anniversaries, and
hedonistic libertine chords in cosy, beer soaked venues to celebrate Fridays.
Love conquered all the senses, the smell of freshly baked bread wafting through
the apartment on a sleepy Saturday morning whispering “I love you” to the
olfactory system. Attentively prepared Ajapsandali paired with Georgian wine
murmuring “I will care for you” to the taste buds. A small unthinking act of
kindness by way of a hot drink and a surprise dessert imparts “I will support
you”. Original poetry, which quite blatantly says “I will always want you” to
anyone who has a jolly good sense of taste and decency for this sort of thing.
A magical union...
... finally took place, defeating the combined powers of a world-wide pandemic
and the British government. Their happily ever after ran the normal path; a
countryside house, 2 little puppies to keep their aging cat on it's toes and
in late 2022 their little family grew by another little addition. The past year
has been a flurry of firsts but Gabriel is shaping up to make the most adorable
pageboy in 2025.
However...
…despite all this love, life would not be as grand as it is without their friends
and family to enrich it. As such, you are all warmly invited (again), and strongly
encouraged (again), to come together with the happy couple to join in the
celebration of their love this summer.
